Info
Héctor Lavoe transformed his way of singing into his own language: razor-edged phrasing, natural swing, and that direct way of telling the street, love, and the downturn without losing the beat. His mark defined 1970s New York salsa and the generation that, around Fania, pushed Latin music toward a new urban, danceable energy.
On September 20, 2026, at Café Berlín (Madrid), Caribe Café gives life to that repertoire from the present. Directed by the Italian-Venezuelan pianist Silvano Pagliuca-Mena and with Jorge "Sarará" Rosales at the helm, the group returns to brava salsa with well-grounded arrangements, a tight rhythmic backbone, and a live show designed so that the songs don’t stay on the stage.
Héctor Lavoe Vive isn’t about nostalgia: it’s a journey through that universe where son, guaracha, guaguancó, and plena fit, and where classics that made Lavoe a legend return to their natural place: the dance floor.
