Info
Hailed as the Queens of Lovers Rock, Janet Kay (MBE) and Carroll Thompson are pioneering voices of the romantic, soul-infused British reggae movement that defined a generation in the late 1970s and 1980s. Janet Kay made history in 1979 with "Silly Games," which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and made her the first British-born Black female artist to showcase a reggae song on Top of the Pops. Carroll Thompson burst onto the scene shortly after, releasing her self-penned 1980 debut album Hopelessly in Love, which yielded enduring tracks like "I'm So Sorry".
Having both sold over a million records globally, these two artists frequently unite as a touring duo, performing with their signature warm harmonies and a nostalgic journey through the era of British Lovers Rock.
