Nkosinathi Innocent Maphumulo, better known as Black Coffee, brings on October 21, 2026 his deeply rooted Afro-house sound to the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. From Durban, he has been crafting his own sound since the early 2000s: deep house with slow, warm grooves, African rhythms and jazzy accents, always tight but with plenty of room for melody and soul.
His breakthrough began after the Red Bull Music Academy (2003) and was firmly established with the debut album Black Coffee (2005), after which he further deepened his style with releases that carried him from the South African scene to international club and festival circuits. Live, Black Coffee's sets revolve around long build-ups, subtle progression and a hypnotic flow that works just as well in an intimate club as on large stages. With later projects, including Subconsciously, he has shown how effortlessly he can weave his Afro- and deep-house foundation into global influences and collaborations, without losing his roots.
