Clwb Ifor Bach presents Jon Gomm.
Originally from Blackpool, in Lancashire, Jon Gomm trained very early on in the ukulele and then in the guitar, before attending the London Guitar Institute and the Leeds College of Music, the city where he developed his first solo concerts in the early 2000s. Jon Gomm's music blends acoustic folk, blues, soul, rock and jazz, with a central vocal line and a very percussive fingerstyle that allows bass lines, rhythms, chords and melody to coexist on a single guitar. Jon Gomm released Hypertension in 2003, followed by Don't Panic in 2009 and Secrets Nobody Keeps in 2013. From 2004, he has toured full-time in the United Kingdom, Europe and other countries, both in clubs and theatres as well as in art centers and guitar-focused festivals. His career notably led him to share stages with Preston Reed, Andy McKee, Tommy Emmanuel or Nick Harper, and to participate in the Guitar Masters Tour. In 2011, his composition Passionflower began circulating widely online, before a cover of Ain't Nobody further broadened his audience the following year. Since then, Jon Gomm has pursued a career centered on live performance and on acoustic writing that remains tied to the singer-songwriter tradition as much as to contemporary instrumental forms.
