Ugly Kid Joe are back to let the guitars speak on February 12, 2027 at the Transbordeur in Villeurbanne. Born at the end of the 1980s in California around singer Whitfield Crane and guitarist Klaus Eichstadt, the band quickly carved out its own place with a blend of hard rock, heavy metal, alternative metal and funk touches, between tight riffs, catchy choruses and biting humor.
Broke out in the early 1990s with the EP As Ugly as They Wanna Be, then confirmed by America’s Least Wanted, Ugly Kid Joe went on to tour and release records through the mid-1990s, before splitting up in 1997. Returning to the fore from 2010, the band relaunched with Stairway to Hell, Uglier Than They Used to Be and, more recently, Rad Wings of Destiny.
On stage, you find the band’s historic backbone, led by Crane and Eichstadt, with Cordell Crockett, Dave Fortman and Zac Morris: a lineup built for big decibels, punchy breaks and melodies that stay in your head.
