Info
The La Palène association presents: Assassin.
With Assassin, a foundational part of the history of French rap takes the stage at La Palène. Formed in the mid-1980s around Rockin’ Squat, the group early on asserted free, radical, uncompromising lyrics, and a vision of hip-hop as a space of consciousness, resistance and emancipation.
Assassin opened an important path, defending artistic independence that became a benchmark for generations of artists, notably through Assassin Productions. After IAM and Oxmo, Assassin’s arrival confirms an obvious truth: at La Palène, the fundamentals have their rightful place, when they helped write the history of French rap.
