Ara Malikian « Intruso »

On 13 September 2026, La Plaza de Toros de Granada welcomes Ara Malikian with Intruso. A violinist born in Beirut to an Armenian family and trained early in Europe, Malikian has turned the violin into a voice that moves effortlessly between classical music and folk-rooted traditions. His work as a soloist connects Bach and Paganini with Piazzolla and engages with influences from the Near East, Armenian tradition, Spanish heritage, and touches of rock and jazz. Based in Spain, he has collaborated with European orchestras and flamenco musicians, and has developed projects for theatre and film.

Intruso continues that journey: a live performance that places the violin at the centre as narrator, alternating pieces from the great repertoire with contemporary reinterpretations and compositions inspired by different shores of the Mediterranean. It is a set that crosses stylistic borders without losing its melodic pulse, where Eastern echoes, Armenian tradition and the popular sensibility Malikian has gradually incorporated throughout his career coexist. An evening conceived to hear his distinctive language up close, marked by the blending and transit between worlds.
