On July 17, 2026, at the New Morning in Paris, Ledisi comes to perform For Dinah, her tribute to Dinah Washington. Born in New Orleans and raised in Oakland, she blends the gospel learned in church with R&B groove and jazz inflections for a set focused on how Dinah shaped her artistic freedom. Between restrained swing and stripped-down ballads, Ledisi revisits this repertoire with supple phrasing, carefully honed dynamics and a keen attention to the words that anchor these classics in the present.

A Grammy winner in 2021 for Anything For You, she has already explored the art of musical portraiture with Ledisi Sings Nina. For Dinah, co-produced with double bassist Christian McBride, continues that approach: a space where Ledisi asserts a confidently embraced femininity, plays with vocal textures and crosses contemporary soul with jazz traditions.
