On 8 September 2026, Faster Pussycat bring their alley-cat take on LA sleaze rock to The Underworld in London. Born on the Sunset Strip in the mid-80s, the band forged a rough mix of glam, punk and blues, led by Taime Downe’s rasp and a taste for streetwise hooks. Signed to Elektra, they cut their self-titled debut with Ric Browde, pinning down Babylon, Bathroom Wall, Cathouse and Don’t Change That Song—tracks that set the tone for a catalogue that later stretched to the more melodic Wake Me When It’s Over and the heavier Whipped!, before Downe steered the project back in the 2000s with darker, industrial shades. On stage, that hybrid still bites: gritty riffs, shout-along choruses and a barroom swing that sticks closer to the curb than the catwalk. If you’ve seen The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years, you know the scene; three decades on, the attitude remains, and The Underworld date puts it back under the lights.
