Info

Beverley Knight brings her Born To Perform Tour to Cambridge Corn Exchange in Cambridge on 29 June 2026. Raised in Wolverhampton in a Jamaican family and shaped by the Pentecostal church, she draws a clear line between soul, contemporary R&B, neo‑soul and gospel. Since her debut with The B-Funk in 1995, she has built a catalogue that moves from the groove of Prodigal Sista to the more personal Who I Am and the pop‑leaning Affirmation, then back to rawer colours on Music City Soul and 100%. She has also revisited British soul on Soul UK, explored classic sounds with Soulsville, and most recently opened a new chapter with The Fifth Chapter in 2023.

On stage, expect a set that connects early cuts with recent tracks, carried by a tight live band and arrangements that let her church‑honed phrasing breathe. The show often nods to the songs that have marked her path, from radio favourites to deeper album moments, with room for the British soul standards she has championed. Her experience in the West End (The Bodyguard, Memphis, Cats, The Drifters Girl, Sylvia, Sister Act) feeds a precise sense of storytelling and dynamics, serving a concert built for voices, grooves and audience call‑and‑response.
