Hang Massive

Hang Massive bring the handpan to the forefront with music built on soft pulse, repeating motifs and long, singing overtones. Formed in 2010 after a meeting in India, the duo unites Brit Danny Cudd and Swede Markus Johansson, aka Markus Offbeat. Rooted in the UK, they craft pieces that sit between ambient, new age and global influences, with two instruments weaving lines that drift, interlock and resonate.

At O2 Academy Islington in London on 4 June 2026, the pair shape a live journey where textures take the lead over song form. The show leans on touch and timing: gentle grooves, patient development and a close dialogue between the two handpans. Themes appear, repeat and shift, building calm intensity without rushing, inviting you to listen to detail—the attack of a note, the fade of a resonance, the space in between.

Their set draws across a catalogue built over the last decade, including Beats for Your Feet, As It Is, Distant Light, Celestial Colour and Luminous Emptiness. What comes through on stage is the duo’s clear, stripped-back approach: no excess, just two players exploring pattern, texture and breath, and letting the room carry the sound.
