Gary Numan plays The Adrian Flux Waterfront in Norwich on 21 July 2026. Emerging from late-70s post-punk with Tubeway Army, he helped shape early synth-pop with Replicas, then solo landmarks The Pleasure Principle and Telekon. Songs like Are ‘Friends’ Electric? and Cars set a template of cool electronics, urban solitude and sci‑fi overtones that he has kept refining. From the 1990s onward, his music shifted toward darker, more industrial textures on Sacrifice, then deepened across Pure, Splinter (Songs from a Broken Mind), Savage (Songs from a Broken World) and Intruder in 2021. On stage, he folds these eras together: lean analog lines and mechanical grooves meet heavier, grainy atmospheres, with guitars adding bite to layered synths. The set navigates from motorik pulses to brooding electronic swells, anchored by a steady voice that stays both distant and human.
