Info
Musings and Lyrics brings Nik Kershaw to The Platform, Morecambe, on 14 May 2027 for an intimate set built around songs, stories and a dash of mischief. The singer-songwriter revisits the tracks that put him on the map in 1984 — Wouldn’t It Be Good, The Riddle, I Won’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me — alongside deeper cuts and recent material, stripped back to let the melodies and words breathe.
Between songs, Kershaw opens the notebook on a career that moved from the UK charts to Live Aid, then into the writing room, where he penned The One and Only for Chesney Hawkes and collaborated with Elton John, Lulu, Petula Clark, The Hollies, Sia, Imogen Heap, Gary Barlow and more. Rooted in a pop language shaped by synth-pop and new wave, his guitar-and-keys approach finds a new edge in this close-up format.
Timed with the release of his new book, the evening leans into anecdotes about studio sessions, touring stories and the riddles behind the hooks. A chance to hear the songs up close and to trace the line from Human Racing to Oxymoron, with the wry humour that threads through his writing.
