Los Tucanes De Tijuana

On 8 July 2026 at The Academy in Dublin, Los Tucanes de Tijuana bring the Pacific norteño they’ve been shaping since 1987. Formed in Tijuana around songwriter Mario Quintero Lara, the band carved a straightforward, narrative style where accordion and bajo sexto drive crisp, compact rhythms. Their repertoire moves through corridos, dance tunes, cumbias and rancheras, with lyrics rooted in popular storytelling and social chronicles from the Mexico–US border.

Across a prolific catalogue — Me robaste el corazón, Mundo de amor, Imperio, El árbol, 365 Días, Prueba superada, Retro-Corridos Vol. 2 — Los Tucanes have refined arrangements built for movement without losing the thread of the tale. The group has carried this sound from small parties to larger stages like Pa’l Norte, Coachella and Vive Latino, while collaborating along the way with La Original Banda El Limón, El Fantasma or Fuerza Regida. In Dublin, they roll out a concentrated tour of their songbook, accordion up front and the stories unfolding verse after verse.
