The Wolfe Tones

On 25 July 2026, The Wolfe Tones bring six decades of Irish folk to 3Arena, Dublin. Formed in Bluebell in 1963, the group shaped a sound that blends the acoustic ballad tradition with a more direct, sometimes folk-rock approach. Brian Warfield, Noel Nagle and Tommy Byrne carry the torch today, keeping the focus on tight vocal harmonies, strings and traditional airs that have marked their journey since the early years.

On stage, the trio moves between original songs and pieces drawn from the Irish repertoire, with stories of emigration, national identity and historical memory at the heart. Their songbook spans from early staples like The Foggy Dew to Let the People Sing and A Sense of Freedom, then You’ll Never Beat the Irish, Child of Destiny and The Dublin Rebellion 1916. The set weaves narrative ballads, marching tunes and refrains built for voices in unison, tracing how their music has evolved while staying rooted in the same clear, melodic storytelling.
