Alto saxophonist and sideman for Miles Davis, Kenny Garrett is an American jazz musician. A musician for more than 40 years, he has received several awards, including a Grammy Award. He is known for his technique and his improvisational ability.
His album Sounds from the Ancestors showcases several facets and reflects the history of jazz, R&B and gospel from his hometown of Detroit. Under the influence of John Coltrane and Miles Davis, and in his own compositions, Kenny Garrett develops a personal groove.
