Assassin [rap] is a French hip-hop group, founded in Paris in the mid-1980s and led by its frontman Rockin' Squat, a prominent figure in politically engaged rap in France. A precursor of conscious hip-hop, the group distinguished itself from the outset by an uncompromising voice, committed lyrics and artistic freedom. Assassin is the first French rap group to earn a gold record independently, producing and distributing its music through its own label, Assassin Productions. The group became a reference and an influence both in France and internationally. With more than one million albums sold and several landmark tracks, Assassin has influenced multiple generations of artists.
In 2026, the group marks its return with a new album and a tour, true to its politically engaged, creative DNA and to its artistic rigor. Opening act.
