Info

Roméo & Juliette has brought together more than 11 million spectators worldwide. Translated into 18 languages and performed in 20 countries, the show will be presented on May 13, 2028, at 6:30 PM at the Zénith de Lille.

Launched in 2001 at the Palais des Congrès, where it drew nearly 2.5 million spectators, the production was from the start embodied by Damien Sargue and Cécilia Cara. The show still allows audiences to see this duo on stage today. Cécilia Cara: “I was chosen at 15 to play Juliette, a role that marked the beginning of my life as an artist. Reprising it twenty years later alongside Damien, with the experience I have gained, nourishes the characters in a different way.” Damien Sargue: “This role has been with me since 2001, and revisiting it today alongside Cécilia, with the perspective and maturity time has brought, gives this adventure a new depth.”

With more than 9 million records sold and songs that have become part of French popular culture—such as Les Rois du monde and Aimer—Roméo & Juliette has left a mark on the history of the musical. For nearly 25 years the show has traveled across cultures and adapted to the changes of its time: new techniques, new stage conventions, new audience expectations. It preserves what defines it: familiar songs, a broad aesthetic, and a strong sense of spectacle.

For Gérard Presgurvic, Roméo & Juliette remains a universal and timeless love story that raises a question as relevant as ever: how far are we willing to go for love? The show returns in a reimagined version, with a new cast, new costumes and a new scenography, while maintaining its identity.
