Info
On October 27, 2026, at the Big Band Café in Hérouville-Saint-Clair, The Chameleons return to the stage with the blend of post-punk and atmospheric guitars that has become their trademark. Formed in Manchester in 1981 around Mark Burgess on vocals and bass, the band made its mark with emphatic bass lines, echoing guitars and a distinctive melodic tension, captured on three albums that have become landmarks: Script of the Bridge (1983), What Does Anything Mean? Basically? (1985) and Strange Times (1986). After splitting up at the end of the 1980s and then making regular returns to the road, The Chameleons reformed in 2021 and came back in 2024 with the single “Where Are You” and the album Arctic Moon, their first full-length studio record in more than twenty years.
Now led by Mark Burgess and Reg Smithies alongside Stephen Rice, Danny Ashberry and Todd Demma, they reassert the balance that defines them: expansive atmospheres, dark yet melodic pulses, and direct choruses. Expect a set that ties their classics to new tracks from Arctic Moon, maintaining continuity with the band’s spirit without slipping into nostalgia.
