No need to look far. When you call your show Cactus, you know it’s going to sting — but that’s typical of Elie Semoun. For 30 years he has been a fixture on the French stage. His style has inspired generations of artists, and he performs a range of characters. In this eighth show, stand-up will be somewhat more present, which is new for him. In the gallery of new monsters there will be Jean Abdul, who will perform his own opening act; a son who takes his father on a tour of a nursing home (EHPAD); Xavier, who has a motor disability and introduces his wife to his mother; a father confronted with his son’s transition; a karate class taught by a racist; sexual harassment and religion — all themes in Cactus, which offers a perspective on society. Cactus will be presented on 22 May 2027 at 6:00 PM at Espace Mac Orlan.
