Elie Semoun
Elie Semoun is a French actor and comedian born in 1963 in Antony. Driven by his passion for theatre and comedy, he joined Roger Louret’s troupe in the 1990s and met Muriel Robin, with whom he performed in the show “Les Baladins en Agenais”. In 1991 Elie Semoun met Dieudonné at the Café de la Gare and formed a duo with him. Dieudonné and Elie Semoun then wrote two shows, “Elie et Dieudonné au Théâtre du Splendid Saint‑Martin” and “Elie et Dieudonné en garde à vue”, which they performed on stage from 1991 to 1996. That same year the duo split and Elie Semoun devoted himself to a solo career. He returned three years later with his first one‑man show, “Elie et Semoun au Palais des Glaces”, which was a great success. Elie Semoun then launched a long series of sketches that became famous: “Les petites annonces” (the classified ads). The concept appealed to audiences and Elie Semoun invited many artists, including Franck Dubosc, to perform the sketches with him. As Mercedes, Jeannine or Mikeline, Elie Semoun won over the public. Alongside his shows, Elie Semoun has also appeared in numerous French films, including “Iznogoud” (2005) and “Cyprien” (2009).
