Luc Langevin - L'illusionniste

Luc Langevin marks his return with a fourth large-scale illusion show, conceived and honed with his longtime collaborator, magician Stéphane Bourgoin. At its core runs a clear throughline: the tension between head and heart. The Quebecer arranges a sequence of tableaux that play on this duality—between control and letting go—where each routine slots into the next to form a continuous narrative.

In a carefully worked scenography, the set pieces are custom-designed and the precision of the gestures frames the whole. The effects alternate between intimacy and grandeur, mixing sleight-of-hand with major revelations, while a soundtrack supports the show’s progression without overstating it. The illusion takes hold in small increments, blurring the line between what we think we see and what slips away, like a door opened onto a world crafted to escape the real.

Luc Langevin – L’Illusionniste will be presented on 6 February 2027 at the Arena du Pays d’Aix in Aix-en-Provence. It’s an occasion to discover a creation in which the mechanics of trickery serve a narrative, and where the art of prestidigitation seeks to resonate with emotion.
