Celtic Legends

On April 16, 2026, Celtic Legends calls at the Espace Encan in La Rochelle. Born in Galway, in the heart of Connemara, the show blends live music and Irish dance to recreate the atmosphere of a pub session—direct and without unnecessary embellishment. Since its beginnings, the company has toured stages around the world with a repertoire rooted in tradition, where reels, jigs and ballads follow one another in a constant dialogue between musicians and dancers.

On stage, five musicians led by Sean McCarthy set the tempo, play with contrasts and establish a rhythmic framework that answers the dancers’ steps. Opposite them, twelve dancers under the choreographic direction of Jacintha Sharpe alternate percussive footwork, precisely synchronized ensemble pieces and freer solo moments. This new 2026 edition sharpens the tableaux and renews the writing while remaining true to the line that defines Celtic Legends: an energy driven by acoustic sound, clear arrangements and a collective sense of groove.

A performance that places Irish culture at the centre, between rhythmic virtuosity, generous melodies and that shared pulse that carries the audience away.
