Celtic Legends

Merging Irish dance and Celtic music, Celtic Legends has been developing a staged show since the early 2000s that brings together a troupe of dancers, musicians and singers around a repertoire drawn from Irish traditions. Born out of an international touring context rather than from a specific local scene, the Celtic Legends project relies on a compact acoustic ensemble and a dance company that highlights percussive footwork, group choreography and solos, in constant dialogue with live music. Celtic Legends' arrangements rework reels, jigs and ballads, favoring energetic structures and contrasts between fast instrumental passages and more melodic moments, with an accessible Celtic folk aesthetic aimed at a wide audience. The show is primarily presented in theatres and large venues across Europe—particularly in France—but also on broader tours beyond the continent, and several concert recordings are now available as live albums and performance videos.
