Info
Celtic Legends celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2027 and will stop at Zénith Nantes Métropole in Saint-Herblain on 20 February 2027. The Irish troupe returns with a new show that plunges into the heart of Irish dance. For nearly two hours, choreographies by Jacintha Sharpe follow one another and converse with music performed entirely live by five musicians under the direction of Sean McCarthy. Uilleann pipes, penny whistle, fiddle, bodhrán and guitar provide colour and rhythm across reels, jigs and ballads, with marked contrasts between percussive energy and more melodic lines.
On stage, the company alternates collective tableaux, meticulously measured percussive footwork and solos, supported by an acoustic sound faithful to the spirit of Celtic Legends. Designed for large stages, the show relies on the precision of the steps, attentive interplay with the band and an onstage energy that brings out the dynamics of live performance. Since the early 2000s, Celtic Legends has been developing this meeting of music and dance, and here marks a symbolic milestone with a pared-back ensemble and staging that highlights performance, transmission and a direct connection with the audience.
