Blood Red Shoes arrive at Paloma, Nîmes, on 6 October 2026. Born in Brighton, the duo of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell have built a direct, no-nonsense sound in which guitar and drums respond like a single unit. On stage, their concise songwriting delivers: abrasive riffs, taut rhythmic tension, clear vocals that cut cleanly through the mix, all without unnecessary excess. From Box of Secrets and Fire Like This to In Time to Voices — their most stripped-back record — and on to Get Tragic and Ghosts on Tape, they have evolved the formula without losing their original nervousness, slipping in darker textures and occasional electronic nods. The set alternates between dry, precise hits and sudden surges, mirrored vocal lines and abrupt ruptures, moving between tense indie, gritty garage and post-punk shadows.
