Kool & The Gang

On July 23, 2026, Kool & The Gang arrives at the Starlite Festival - Auditorio Marbella with a set that condenses more than five decades of live funk, soul and R&B. Formed in the late ’60s in Jersey City around bassist Robert “Kool” Bell and his brother, saxophonist Ronald Bell, the group began with an instrumental blend of jazz and soul before sharpening a more direct funk pulse on records like Wild and Peaceful. With the arrival of James “J.T.” Taylor and the production of Eumir Deodato, they opened the door to more sung, danceable tracks—from Ladies’ Night to Celebrate!—and later to the electronic grooves of Emergency, without losing the weight of the horn arrangements or the bass lines.

In Marbella, the band continues to tour with Robert “Kool” Bell at the helm, alternating the classics that have defined dance floors and festivals with more recent cuts from Still Kool or Perfect Union. Guitar riffs, precise horn sections and choruses that land on the first listen, for a live show that looks as much to R&B ballads as to club rhythms. Another chapter in a story that other artists have sampled, covered and remixed.
