STJERNESTUNDER 2026 brings Tørfisk to Det Kongelige Teater in Copenhagen on 24 November 2026. Formed in the late 1970s in Thyborøn, on Denmark’s west coast, the group stands in the line of visesang and Scandinavian folk, with songs rooted in everyday life by the sea. Their repertoire sketches fishing communities and Limfjord landscapes, with a dry West Jutland humor that slips into the lyrics and stage banter. Polyphonic vocals ride over clean, acoustic arrangements, shifting between story-ballads, call-and-response moments and lighter, tongue-in-cheek numbers.
VLTJ, inspired by the Lemvig–Thyborøn railway line, is one of their most-cited titles and shows how Tørfisk folds local details into small social chronicles. Across changing line-ups, they’ve kept the same backbone: original compositions, a handful of traditionals and a direct, unvarnished sound that keeps the maritime and rural backdrop close. For this date at Det Kongelige Teater, expect a set that balances longtime favorites with newer pieces, carried by close harmonies, guitar and that steady coastal pulse.
