Ty Segall

Ty Segall will perform at the Knust in Hamburg on 15 September 2026. The California-born musician helped shape the Bay Area garage- and psych-rock scene from the late 2000s: early albums such as Ty Segall, Lemons, and Melted combined distorted guitars, punky directness, and catchy hooks. He then broadened his scope—Goodbye Bread and Twins pushed his songwriting into more psychedelic, clearly structured territory, while Sleeper revealed his quieter, acoustic side. With Manipulator and Emotional Mugger the sound grew denser and more experimental, moving between glam-tinged elements, heavy riffs, and warped keyboards; Freedom’s Goblin and First Taste leaned more into textures and brass colors. Most recently, Harmonizer, Hello, Hi, and Three Bells have again explored the spectrum between solo intimacy and full-band power. On stage, stripped-down ballads meet fuzzy assaults; compact songs alternate with expansive passages. His work with bands like Fuzz and GØGGS reflects a tendency toward heavier sonorities—on stage his palette ranges from acoustic to massively distorted.
