Info
On 6 July 2026 Ludovico Einaudi will perform at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. The Italian composer and pianist, raised in Turin and trained at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milan, began in contemporary music and worked as an assistant to Luciano Berio. His writing later shifted toward piano-centred melodies, featuring repetitive motifs, clear harmonies and influences from minimalism, folk and ambient.
Since Le Onde (1996) he has developed a sequence of albums including I Giorni, Una Mattina and Divenire, followed by Nightbook, In a Time Lapse and Elements. More recently, with Seven Days Walking and Underwater, he has explored formats ranging from solo to chamber music with strings and subtle electronics. His compositions also frequently appear in film and television—from Doctor Zhivago to This Is England—making his sound world recognisable to a broad audience.
Live, the focus is on compact themes that slowly unfold, unadorned dynamics and an emphasis on timbre and repetition. At the Ziggo Dome Einaudi presents his repertoire in a setting that highlights the nuances of his piano playing and the spatial qualities of his compositions, with a flow that shifts between meditative and pulsing.
