Blaudzun

Blaudzun will perform on 9 May 2026 at PLT - Theater Heerlen in Heerlen. The project led by singer‑songwriter Johannes Sigmond evolved from the Dutch indie scene into a distinctive voice straddling indie rock, folk and pop, enriched by strings and brass. Since the self‑titled debut and Seadrift Soundmachine, Blaudzun has established a line of songs that begin intimately and then expand outward; Heavy Flowers and Promises of No Man’s Land deepened that sound, the two‑part Jupiter pushed rhythm forward, followed by UP and Pi, where melody and drive come together.

Blaudzun rarely plays alone live. With an expanded band the studio arrangements are transformed into a more immediate, dynamic sound that carries the arc of tension of his dark, sometimes baritone‑tinged vocals. Expect a set that shifts between hushed passages and pulsing tracks, leaving room for new work alongside familiar material from his catalogue. In Heerlen that mix comes together: rich in texture, layered and to the point, with the focus on the song and the interplay.
