Wibi Soerjadi

On 22 August 2026 pianist Wibi Soerjadi will give a garden concert at Villa Peckedam in Diepenheim. The Dutch pianist of Indonesian descent has established himself in the Romantic piano repertoire. After studying at Dutch conservatories he immersed himself in Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Schumann, and over time added his own compositions and piano arrangements of orchestral themes to his programmes.

Since the late 1980s Soerjadi has performed on the major Dutch stages, often in solo recitals and regularly with symphony orchestras in concertos of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. His discography combines studio recordings and live sessions in which extensive cycles sit alongside short character pieces. Alongside his stage work he undertakes a variety of projects, composes to commission, gives masterclasses and remains closely connected to the musical life in his home country.

In the garden of Villa Peckedam he has chosen a programme that leans on the Romantic repertoire, leaving room for his own signature and arrangements. Solo and close to the audience, the focus is on tone, timing and the lyricism for which he is known.
