Wibi Soerjadi
Trained in the Netherlands in a family of Indonesian origin, Wibi Soerjadi developed at an early age a career as a classical pianist focused on the great Romantic repertoire. During his advanced studies at Dutch conservatories, he refined a style centered on Liszt, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and Schumann, gradually combining these with his own compositions and with transcriptions of orchestral themes for solo piano. From the late 1980s he established himself on the main concert stages in the Netherlands, notably in recital, and regularly collaborated with national symphony orchestras in concertos of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Wibi Soerjadi’s discography includes studio recordings and live concert recordings released by various labels, featuring major repertoire works, virtuosic pieces and more intimate fragments. Alongside his performing and recording activities, he takes part in media projects, composes for varied contexts and remains involved in Dutch musical life through tours, masterclasses and piano events.
