Info
On 1 May 2026, New York singer, pianist and songwriter Nicole Zuraitis will perform at Q-Factory in Amsterdam. Hailing from Connecticut and trained in classical music and musical theatre, she ultimately chose jazz and has developed her own voice within the contemporary vocal-jazz landscape. Songwriting is central to her work: she weaves jazz harmonies, soulful grooves and subtle pop colors into songs where lyrics and storytelling guide the direction.
On stage Zuraitis moves effortlessly between original compositions, reinterpretations of standards and songs from other repertoires. Her long-standing collaboration with drummer/arranger Dan Pugach fuels that interplay between structure and improvisation; together they, for example, created the nonet arrangement of "Jolene." Her discography includes Pariah Anthem (2012), Hive Mind (2017) and Generations of Her (2019), a project centered on female creators who inspire her. With How Love Begins (2023) she was honored with a Grammy in 2024 in the vocal jazz category.
At Q-Factory she brings that mix to life: narrative melodies, room for improvisation and a band sound that breathes easily. Between piano and voice she seeks the balance between intimacy and groove, focusing on songs that linger without resorting to gimmicks.
