Ron Sexsmith - Tour 2026

On 23 August 2026 Ron Sexsmith will be on stage at the JunkYard in Dortmund. The Canadian singer‑songwriter from Ontario has been writing unadorned, melodic songs since the 1990s, operating between folk, pop and understated rock. Since his self-titled debut in 1995 a clear thread runs through his work: pared-down arrangements, a keen sense for melodies and lyrics that portray relationships and everyday life without pathos.

Live he brings the voice forward, lets chords breathe and gives the hooks room. In the set, early tracks from Other Songs, Whereabouts and Blue Boy sit alongside later phases such as Cobblestone Runway, Retriever and the long-player Late Bloomer, up to Hermitage and The Vivian Line. Ballads and quietly uptempo moments alternate; nothing is forced, everything follows the cadence of the words. No effects, no embellishment, but concentrated songs that grow in the space. An evening that bears his signature: compact, melodic, close to the core of the pieces — just as you know his records, only more immediate.
