On April 17, 2026, at Urban Spree in Berlin, Frank The Baptist, Whispers In The Shadow and Telegram Frank will meet for an evening between post‑punk and gothic rock.
Frank The Baptist bring their rock/post‑punk to where it has long belonged. Formed in Southern California in the late ’90s and rooted in Berlin since 2006, Frank Vollmann shapes a sound between goth rock, alternative and post‑punk with his deep voice, distinctive guitars and direct hooks. Different Degrees of Empty marked the beginning in 2003; in 2024 a remaster celebrated its 20th anniversary — live, early tracks and later songs collide, raw, melodic and to the point.
With Rapture, Whispers In The Shadow present their twelfth album — a journey through religion, love, death and spirituality. Driven by Ashley Dayour’s unmistakable voice, the band moves between heavy and shimmering guitars, pulsing basslines and drums that range from tribal to powerful. The songs oscillate between post‑punk and gothic rock, building tension and releasing it in controlled bursts.
As Telegram Frank, Frank Vollmann presents his songs in a pared‑down format: acoustic, intimate, with a focus on lyrics and melody. The solo set brings the songwriting behind Frank The Baptist to the fore and opens space for other nuances.
Between and after the live sets, DJ NecroPhil will shape the evening with a selection of dark wave, post‑punk and related sounds.
