Afterclass (Colombia) touch down in Berlin for the first time with La Ausencia del Descanso, live at Monarch Bar on 14 May 2026. Vic Deal, Luis7Lunes and Maco Maat bring three voices over boom-bap foundations, soul and jazz‑laced samples, with a faint trip-hop undertow. Punchlines meet candid writing, riding dusty drums with a mix of golden‑era grit and present‑day weight, no theatrics, just craft and timing.
On stage, the trio pushes a tight, rising groove: cracked snares, breathing low end, verses passed in quick relay until the hook locks in. Luis7Lunes, from Medellín’s independent scene, moves at a nocturnal tempo with lo‑fi textures and an eye for everyday detail. Vic Deal delivers Portuguese bars with a laid‑back cadence, mid‑tempo melodies and a clear, steady pen within the Afterclass orbit. Maco Maat completes the palette, threading sample work with a darker, cinematic touch.
