Antony Szmierek

On 15 April 2026 Antony Szmierek brings his blend of spoken word, indie-pop and electronica to the Lila Eule in Bremen. The Manchester-based poet, writer and producer performs with a narrative flow, half spoken, half sung, close to rap timing. His lyrics revolve around everyday observations, urban scenes and intimate portraits, carried by warm synths, spare hooks and beats that swing between hints of house and slow hip‑hop.

Szmierek has just released the digital deluxe version of his debut album Service Station at the End of the Universe. It includes fan favorites such as The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Fallacy, The Great Pyramid of Stockport, Yoga Teacher and Angie’s Wedding, plus two new tracks: That Face You Make When It’s Raining and Girlypops. Live he lets this material breathe: clear structures, plenty of room for words, dynamic shifts between spoken passages and melodic refrains, sometimes in a full-band setting, sometimes pared back, with a palpable closeness to the audience.
