50 Jahre Knust: 50 Songs Bernd Begemann

To mark Knust’s 50th anniversary, Bernd Begemann brings 50 songs to the stage — a concentrated survey of his work between storytelling pop, guitar-driven energy and subtle hints of soul. Since the early Eighties, the songwriter, born in Braunschweig and raised in Bad Salzuflen, has shaped the German-language indie-pop landscape: first with Die Antwort in Hamburg, later as a solo artist and repeatedly in collaboration with his band Die Befreiung. His songs depict everyday life, relationships and urban existence, observed concisely and wryly, carried by voice, guitar and classic pop instrumentation.

For this evening Begemann spans several decades of his catalogue: from early solo works like Rezession, Baby! (1993), So geht das jede Nacht (1995) and Jetzt bist du in Talkshows (1999) to more recent songs and side detours. Live he moves gracefully between quiet miniatures and clear uptempos, leaving room for stories without losing momentum. Here, 50 songs are not a tick-box best-of but a chronicle in motion — condensed, vivid and close to the lyrics.
