Info
On April 2, 2026, at FirstOntario Concert Hall in Hamilton, George Thorogood & The Destroyers bring The Baddest Show On Earth, tailored for fans of blues-rock, boogie and no-nonsense rock and roll. Born in the 1970s in Wilmington around George Thorogood (guitar, vocals) and Jeff Simon (drums), the band built its identity on a cutting slide, an amplified sound and simple structures inherited from electric blues and ’50s rock. From the early albums George Thorogood and the Destroyers (1977) and Move It On Over (1978) to More George Thorogood and the Destroyers (1980) and Bad to the Bone (1982), the repertoire mixes tight, straightforward originals and covers of John Lee Hooker, Elmore James and Chuck Berry.
Their relentless touring, including the 1981 50/50 Tour across the United States, forged a band designed for the stage, with a steady rhythm section, hooky repetitive riffs and gritty vocals. The albums Maverick (1985) and Born to Be Bad (1988) extended the formula while retaining the blues backbone. On stage, expect a direct set, driving grooves, biting slide breaks and a back-and-forth between reworked blues classics and the band’s standout catalogue tracks, all played without frills.
