Info
On 18 July 2026, Katie Melua will perform outdoors at the amphitheatre in Trier. Born in Kutaisi and raised in the United Kingdom, the songwriter has moved between pop, folk and jazz-inflected styles since her early days. Trained at the BRIT School, she launched her career with producer Mike Batt and the albums Call Off the Search, Piece by Piece and Pictures—marked by ballads, acoustic tonal colours and understated orchestral arrangements. These were followed by The House, Secret Symphony and Ketevan, featuring her own compositions and selected cover versions. In 2016, In Winter, recorded with the Gori Women’s Choir, opened a window onto Eastern European traditions, before Album No. 8 (2020) and Love & Money (2023) introduced a more personal, contemporary note. Live, Katie Melua alternates between a pared-down band line-up and an expanded sound. In Trier she will present songs from different phases of her discography, making room for newer material alongside familiar tracks. At the centre are her voice, songwriting and a clear, unobtrusive aesthetic—framed by an open-air setting that highlights her restrained dynamics and delicate nuances.
