Dumbo Gets Mad

Dumbo Gets Mad brings its psych-pop universe to The Pearl in Vancouver on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Led by Italian musician Luca Bergomi, the project has explored lo-fi pop, retro grooves and psychedelic textures since 2011, when debut Elephants at the Door was conceived between Reggio Emilia and Los Angeles. The second album, Quantum Leap, leaned into improvisation and stretched structures, while Thank You Neil shifted toward a more soulful, cosmic tone, inspired by astrophysics talks and tracked in near-live conditions. In 2021, Things Are Random And Time Is Speeding Up tightened the songwriting without losing the 70s-tinged arrangements, processed vocals and warm synths that anchor the sound.

On stage, Dumbo Gets Mad connects mellow funk pulses, psych excursions and direct hooks in a set that moves between hazy keys and clean rhythm work. The project has also stepped outside its own catalog, contributing to Marracash’s album Noi Loro Gli Altri, a sign of its open approach to collaboration. Special guests join the bill at The Pearl for this Vancouver date.
