Shad marks twenty years on the mic with the Start Anew Tour, landing at The Mod Club in Toronto on February 22, 2026. Born in Kenya to Rwandan parents and raised in London, Ontario, he emerged in the mid-2000s with a style that blends introspection, everyday storytelling and social commentary over boom bap textures shaded by soul and jazz. From the self-released When This Is Over to The Old Prince, TSOL, Flying Colours, A Short Story About a War and Tao, his catalog traces a steady evolution in sound and ideas, clear in tone and grounded in narrative. On stage he often teams up with DJ T.LO and has linked with producers like Skratch Bastid; offstage, his hosting and documentary work reflects the same curiosity that runs through his lyrics. For this anniversary run, he brings two decades of writing and performance back into conversation, between reflection and forward motion, at The Mod Club, 722 College Street, Toronto, Canada.
