Info
Ala.Ni, a British singer with Caribbean roots, unfolds a soul sound enriched by calypso, ragga, bossa nova and rocksteady. On stage she presents a new album where vintage textures meet Caribbean rhythms and pared-down ballads, carried by a clear voice and an understated sense of storytelling. A backing vocalist for Mary J. Blige before embarking on a solo career, and noticed early on by Damon Albarn, she established herself in 2016 with You & I, a debut that carved out a territory between subdued folk, soul and timeless songwriting.
In Miramas, Ala.Ni arrives with four musicians to deliver these new songs and revisit her repertoire, balancing delicate harmonies, lilting guitars and rhythmic pulses that straddle pop and Caribbean tradition. On June 2, 2026 at Théâtre la Colonne Miramas, she offers a chiaroscuro set—precise and stripped-back—where one moves effortlessly from rocksteady echoes to more intimate pieces, all within a staging that leaves room for the band’s dynamics and the richness of the arrangements.
