Orchestra Baobab returns to Bobigny to bring to life a music that has never chosen between dance and memory. Born in Dakar’s nights more than fifty years ago, the orchestra built its signature on a very fluid blend: Afro-Cuban rhythms, Wolof and griot traditions, bursts of mbalax, Congolese rumba and jazz, with guitars that answer each other, soft brass, and voices moving across languages. On October 9, 2026 at Canal 93, the big band presents this new chapter around Made In Senegal, the first studio album of all-new material since 2017. A record that speaks of returning home, heritage, love and resilience, and above all it recalls the band’s strength on stage: to bring tradition to life without freezing it, and to carry everyone in the same movement.
In the opening act, Cuban singer Ivonne Gonzalez revisits the Afro-Latin repertoire, accompanied by pianist César Correa and Nelson Palacios on percussion.
