On March 21, 2027, Tommy Emmanuel brings his solo show to Ottawa at the National Arts Centre, with a set built around the fingerstyle language that made him a reference far beyond the guitar world. His playing is all-in-one: bass lines, chords, melody and subtle percussion woven together in a single flow, drawing as much from country roots as from jazz, pop, rock, blues and bluegrass. Across albums like The Journey, Endless Road and the recent Accomplice releases, he’s kept that direct, hands-on approach at the center, turning each tune into a full arrangement you can follow like a story.
As a very special guest, Molly Tuttle adds her own spark from Nashville’s modern bluegrass and Americana scene. Known for sharp flatpicking and narrative songwriting, she moves easily between broader Americana colors and a straight-ahead bluegrass drive, as heard on Crooked Tree and City of Gold with Golden Highway. Together, it’s a night for people who like acoustic music that’s technical without losing the song.
