Info
An evening of roots reggae at De Doelen.
Culture (featuring Kenyatta Hill) and Cedric Myton (of The Congos) take the stage. They carry culture from its rise to the present day.
The vocal harmony group Culture, originally led by Joseph Hill, released albums in the 1970s such as Two Sevens Clash. After Joseph's unexpected death in 2006, his son Kenyatta Hill took the microphone. With nearly the same fervor, a voice that closely resembles his father's, and enduring energy, he keeps Culture's spiritual and musical legacy alive.
He shares the stage with Cedric Myton, who, as the falsetto singer and figurehead of The Congos, has written history. Their album Heart of the Congos, produced by Lee "Scratch" Perry, is regarded worldwide as one of the best-known reggae albums. Myton is known for his voice that is at once delicate and powerful, capable of giving you goosebumps.
