Info
Teenage Fanclub return to Cardiff on 19 November 2026 for a show at Y Plas Cardiff Students' Union, bringing that unmistakable mix of chiming guitars, tight harmonies and pop instincts honed since their late-80s beginnings in Scotland. Built around the songwriting of Norman Blake and Raymond McGinley, the band has always balanced a bit of grit with clean, melodic craft: mid-tempo grooves, interlocking guitar lines, and choruses that land without forcing it.
Expect a set that moves naturally between the punchier, bright-edged side of their 90s run and the more recent material that keeps the same clear melodic focus. Whether you came in through the band’s power-pop sweet spot or their quieter, more measured songs, this is one of those gigs where the details matter: the way the guitars weave, the vocals share the spotlight, and the tunes stick around after the last chord.
