Warhaus lands on Saturday, February 20, 2027, at the Gashouder in Amsterdam, with a brand-new chapter on the horizon: The Donkey. The solo project of Maarten Devoldere (also known from Balthazar) has, in recent years, built its own universe: dandy-pop with a deep voice, sober arrangements, and that characteristic nocturnal tension. Live, it can feel both intimate and charged, as if every line lingers just a fraction too long. With The Donkey, Devoldere seems to loosen the reins. In new tracks like Simple Pleasures and The Baby, rougher vocals emerge, hypnotic lyrics, and rhythms that nod to gqom, uptempo grooves, and a hint of grime. So don’t expect a choice between elegant pop and a brooding club atmosphere: Warhaus tries to make them collide on one stage, with new material alongside the refined songs and staples from his repertoire.
