On May 11, 2027, at Leeds Arena, Simple Minds bring their long-running Glasgow-built mix of post-punk energy and widescreen, synth-driven rock back to the stage. Still steered by the Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill core, the show is set to move between early, more nervous new wave shapes and the bigger, melodic writing they sharpened through the ’80s. Expect a set where atmospheric guitars, pulsing electronics and clean hooks sit side by side, with room for later chapters too, from their 2000s return to the most recent records.
Also on the bill, Gary Numan lands in Leeds on May 11, 2027 with the cool, machine-lit songwriting that helped define late-’70s synth-pop and then slid into something darker and heavier. From the sharp minimalist punch of his early classics to the industrial-leaning, mood-first sound he’s been pushing since the ’90s, his live set tends to keep the beats tight, the textures dense, and the stories close to the bone.
